In June 2011, then Economic Secretary to the Treasury Justine Greening told the Bow Group that "The government''s priority, in this year and every remaining year of this Parliament, is straightforward – to provide the necessary conditions to support the UK’s long-term economic potential and help to create new jobs."

While still in its relative infancy, the Coalition Government has some notable achievements, but ultimately it will be judged on the ability to facilitate growth in the UK economy, and in this area it has not achieved.
