The Bow Group took great pleasure in partnering with the Ronald Reagan Foundation for the unveiling of the statue of the 40th President of the United States in Grovsenor Square, and the celebration of his centennial year. Representatives of the group enjoyed an entire day of celebrations, lectures and meetings on the life of Ronald Reagan, with notable contributions from the Rt. Hon. William Hague, the Rt. Hon. Liam Fox, and the Hon. Condaleeza Rice.Unsurprisingly much of the conversation of the days events focussed on the special relationship. For the Bow Group and its members to underline its importance yet again would be to add little to the cacophony of agreement in the Conservative discourse, but it is a notion which endures in its importance as significantly in mild understanding, as after decades of study. The Hon. Condaleeza Rice underlined this in qouting Her Majesty the Queen at the Centennial Banquet at Guildhall. "The lesson of my life, and of the twentieth century, is the importance of the special relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States."The celebrations that took place on July 4th not only prove this statement to be true, but also reflect the extent to which we all take part in and benefit from that relationship, which far exceeds the governments and policies of our respective nations.
