Battle of Britain Day Celebrations

Aug 11, 2016 | Archive, Past Events

On September 15th, the 76th Battle of Britain Day, the Bow Group would like to invite you to join us at the RAF Club, Mayfair, as we celebrate and pay tribute to the heroic airmen who fought – and died – to defend the United Kingdom.

The Bow Group is delighted to announce the evening will be hosted by Bow Group Senior Patron The Rt Hon. The Lord Tebbit of Chingford CH, former RAF Flying Officer. Mrs. Anna Maria Anders, Polish Minister for International Dialogue will now also be joining us alongside His Highness Prince Janek Zylinski and Mr. Daniel Kawczynski MP.

The Bow Group in particular wishes to honour the oft-forgotten Polish airmen who were crucial to the Battle. It is our hope that this sobering reminder of their brave legacy will resonate at a time of heightened tensions.

Beginning at 18:00pm in the President’s Room, we will have the pleasure of a private screening of the Battle of Britain film. At 20:30pm, we will retire to the Victoria Bar for a drinks reception with speeches from our special guests. This will then be followed at 21:00pm by returning to the President’s Room for a three-course dinner.

Soft drinks and light snack refreshments will be provided during the film.

Dinner will have a Polish theme, with a Beetroot Soup starter and Roast Pork with crackling served with gravy, roast potatoes, red cabbage, mushrooms & onions main. The vegetarian option will offer a Beetroot Soup starter and an Aubergine, baby artichokes & feta pithivier with olive and sun-dried tomato sauce main.
Both choices will come with a Cheesecake dessert and wine.

Please e-mail office@bowgroup.org with your menu selection and any dietary requirements.

If you wish to attend the film screening, reception and dinner, tickets may be purchased for £65.00. If you would like to attend the film screening and reception only, tickets may be purchased for £15.00.
