Biden Doesn’t Want Brexit to Be a Success and Sees the EU as His Primary Ally

Bow Group Chairman Ben Harris-Quinney has warned that Joe Biden has returned to the Obama-era policy of deprioritising the UK for a trade deal, and doesn’t want Brexit to be a success.

The think tank chairman criticised the Biden administration for frustrating progress on a trans-Atlantic trade deal, after International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan travelled to the USA last week to discuss tariffs, only for talks to be put on hold until 2022.

Ben Harris-Quinney told the Express: “Joe Biden has made it very clear that he sees the EU as his primary ally, and has returned to the Obama era policy of placing Britain at the back of the queue.

“Biden does not want Brexit to be a success, and a good US trade deal would be a big part of that success.

“It will not be easy even to progress a deal with Biden at all, but it will be even harder now to get us a good deal that offers a competitive advantage against the EU.”
