Bow Group chairman Ben Harris-Quinney has said that if Boris Johnson makes another serious mistake, he could be ousted as prime minister.
Mr Harris-Quinney made the remarks after Mr Johnson was forced to admit that during the first lockdown he had attended a social gathering in Downing Street, which he claimed was a work event.
“If yet another scandal drops it will push him over the edge,” the Bow Group chairman told the Express, adding that not even an overhaul of the prime minister’s team would be enough to save him.
“The toxic culture that has grown up in Number 10 and around Boris Johnson over the past few years isn’t going to change by changing advisors” and would not be enough to stop the Tory government from “collapsing”, Harris-Quinney said.
