Bow Group Chairman Ben Harris-Quinney has said the entire culture at Number 10 needs to change, in the wake of allegations that there were multiple Christmas parties at the prime minister’s residence last year while the rest of the country was under lockdown restrictions.

Speaking to GB News, Bow Group Chairman Ben Harris-Quinney remarked on the way in which the media had framed the war in Number 10 as having been between Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie and his former aide Dominic Cummings and the ongoing culture of in-fighting in Downing Street.

Mr Harris-Quinney pointed out that “the problem you have with the Carrie Symonds/Dominic Cummings situation is that Dominic Cummings was an appointed government advisor. A lot of people say he wasn’t elected — which he wasn’t — but he was appointed by the government, and therefore he was legally accountable for his actions.

“Carrie Symonds — now Carrie Johnson — has been elected by no one. She is accountable to no one.”

The Bow Group chairman continued: “The question I asked earlier today when Boris Johnson said there would be an investigation into who was involved in planning this party, who was at the party, who was involved, perhaps, trying to cover up this party — and, indeed, we are told two other parties, as well — what happens if that figure includes Carrie Johnson? What is the process then? Is to be removed from Number 10 Downing Street, because of her toxic effect on power?”

“The entire culture at Number 10 needs to change and change very quickly or the Conservative Party is going to suffer very negative results from it,” Mr Harris-Quinney said.
