Johnson Hinting at Possible Mandatory Vaccination Is ‘Political Suicide’, Says Bow Group Chairman

Dec 9, 2021 | News, Print Media | 0 comments

Bow Group Chairman Ben Harris-Quinney made the remarks after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the introduction of Covid passes in England and saying that there may be need for a “national conversation” about mandatory vaccination.

Prime Minister Johnson announced the implementation of Plan B, which as well as seeing an expansion of the mask mandate and recommendations to work from home would see the roll out of domestic Covid passports for large venues and events, such as nightclubs.

The Conservative prime minister had also said there may be need for a “national conversation” about mandatory vaccination.

Responding to a question from a member of the public on December 8th on the subject of mandatory vaccination, Johnson said: “I want to be absolutely clear with you: I don’t believe we can keep going indefinitely with non-pharmaceutical interventions, I mean restrictions on people’s way of life just because a substantial proportion of the population still sadly has not got vaccinated.

“And I think we’ll need to have a national conversation about the way forward. And the other things that we can do to protect those who are hard to reach, who haven’t got vaccinated for one reason or another.”

Adding: “But that is a stage we will come to, if and when, we establish that the booster is effective against Omicron and the booster is capable of holding Omicron, getting us back into that equilibrium the double jabs got us into with Delta.

“So it’s at that moment we will have to talk seriously about moving on from thinking about further NPIs [non-pharmaceutical interventions].”

Bow Group chairman Ben Harris-Quinney called the prime minister’s remarks “political suicide”.

Mr Harris-Quinney told Breitbart London: “I have not only never seen people of all walks of life and all political persuasions so angry, I have never seen such an utter farce in politics as this. It is political suicide for Boris Johnson, and that is up to him, but we can’t allow him to take the country down with him.”

Continuing: “It is deeply worrying to hear a British prime minister even discuss the possibility of using force against the public to make them have a medical treatment they do not want.”

“If our Government do mandate forced vaccines, the situation moves into a very dark and dangerous place, and I think at that point it becomes morally justifiable as citizens to cease to recognise this Government or agents of this Government as a legitimate authority in our country,” he added.
